AIMES project completed

On the 5th of January 2022, the project AIMES reached its end. The AIMES partners Deveryware, EDGE and Omnitor collaborated to investigate and develop how the next-generation emergency services can evolve. The project's culmination was the AIMES Pilot in Portugal, acting as the golden key to mark the end of the AIMES EUROSTARS Project. Involving the three AIMES partners, the Final Pilot was successfully conducted on the 17th of December 2021, organised by EDGENEERING and hosted by the Hospital do Espirito Santo de Evora (HESE) in the city of Évora, Portugal.

After two years, the project presents a broad set of advanced capabilities for emergency services:

  • Emergency App for Citizens, presenting total conversation features (video and chat) and automatic language translation;

  • Roaming of Emergency Apps, using the PEMEA network to deliver improved caller location and the sharing of additional emergency-related information sharing;

  • Automated Alerts in Emergency Apps, allowing IoT-enabled eHealth Apps to generate automated alerts in case of emergency and relay relevant medical information to the emergency services;

  • App for First Responders, bringing the First Responders into the emergency response communication and information loop, with enhanced situational awareness and better resource management;

  • Public alerts adapted to the citizen and supporting roaming scenarios, using the PEMEA network as an enabler.

Finally, Omnitor wants to thank Deveryware and EDGE for the successful collaboration and outcomes of AIMES. We are now looking forward to exploiting the products and services on the market.
